Relationships: Human and Divine
Urantia Kansas City 2013
July 25 – July 28, 2013
A UAUS National Conference
Every true relationship of mortal man with other persons — human or divine — is an end in itself. And such fellowship with the personality of Deity is the eternal goal of universe ascension. Paper 112 section 2 (page 1228)
At the heart of Urantia Book teachings, you find relationships – the relationship between the individual and her Thought Adjuster, between an angel and her charge, between the Father and the elementary mortal. Our relationships lead to our understanding of morality, of duty, and of service to each other and to the universe. Join us in Kansas City to both study these relationships and to form new ones!
It is not so important to love all men today as it is that each day you learn to love one more human being. If each day or each week you achieve an understanding of one more of your fellows, and if this is the limit of your ability, then you are certainly socializing and truly spiritualizing your personality. Paper 100 section 4 (page 1098)
Location
The University of St. Mary has hosted numerous Urantia events for more than 25 years. They are friendly, courteous, and open to all groups looking to find God and be more like Him. Though Kansas City can be hot and humid during the summer months, all of the major buildings at St. Mary’s are connected though underground tunnels. If you have been to St. Mary’s before, you might remember the basic set up. However, they have built a new building of dorm room suites which we can use.
Travel
For driving directions to the conference, we suggest you use the address above to determine the best route.
If you are flying, we suggest Kansas City International Airport as your destination. If you would like a ride from the airport to the conference, forward us your travel arrangements and we will arrange a ride (perhaps for a small fee.)
Rooms
There are three room options:
Standard: two single beds per room and two rooms share one bathroom.
Suite: Four rooms each with a single bed and share two bathrooms.
Single: Same as the standard, but we won’t book anyone else in the room with you.
Food
Volunteers will be cooking many of our meals for us! St. Mary’s allows us access to a kitchen, so we will be cooking breakfasts and lunches to order. We will have catered dinners on Friday and Saturday nights, as well as a KC Barbecue Lunch on Sunday.
Are you vegetarian? Do you have special dietary needs? Let us know beforehand so we have all the ingredients necessary.
Pricing
Early Registration is $275 for a Standard Room through April 30. Regular Registration is $300 through June 30. Last minute registration is $325.
Add $50 for a Suite Room. Ad $75 for a Single Room.
Scholarships
We will strive to provide scholarships as funds become available. We have purposely kept the cost of this conference down so that it can be affordable to the greatest number of people. If you are able, consider adding a few dollars to your registration to help cover the costs of others. If you would like to apply for a scholarship, contact UrantiaKC at urantiaKC@gmail.com
Children
Please bring your kids! Child care will be arranged during the program. If the child sleeps on the floor of the parents room, then there is no added cost. Program costs nothing for kids. The only cost would be food. Obviously small children eat very little so their costs would be negligible. Older kids seem to eat more than adults, so they would need to contribute for that. A full adult food plan is $125. Either way, contact us so we can make a plan on child care and food.
Schedule
Thursday afternoon will be reserved for checking-in and forCouncil and Committee meetings as needed. The conference will begin with dinner and a program Thursday evening at 5pm.
Friday and Saturday the conference will run all day with three meals, morning and afternoon programs, and evening entertainment.
Sunday we will conclude with breakfast, a morning program, and a noon KC Barbecue and picnic that will last as long as needed. Don’t feel like you need to rush out the door exactly at noon!
Pre/Post Conference
Do you want to arrive a day or two early or stay a day or two late? No problem. Contact UrantiaKC to arrange your travel. Interested in hosting a pre-conference retreat? Contact us at urantiakc@gmail.
