Invitation to Special Prep for IC 14

Last spring Janelle Mazza and David Fabe participated in the first event in this series. Ask them if it was powerful. That one took place at Urantia Foundation. The next one is at IC 14, and it should be even better. Here’s the pitch.

Said Jesus, “Let me emphatically state this eternal truth: If you, by truth co-ordination [the truth of the gospel and the truths of science], learn to exemplify in your lives this beautiful wholeness of righteousness, your fellow men will then seek after you that they may gain what you have so acquired.” (155:1.5)

So let’s learn truth-coordinated living together starting now! If you are interested, write to Jeff Wattles (jwattles@kent.edu). He has fifteen years of taking students through experiential projects in truth, beauty, and goodness; and he will guide you as you develop, pursue, and perhaps prepare to present your project in our July workshop. Of course, you are welcome to do as much or as little as you have time for.

If you act promptly, you’ll be able to catch Jeff’s internet Gospel School at the time when it starts to focus on this project—about two weeks after this invitation appears on Urantia Now. Although this experiential approach to education is based on The Urantia Book, it takes some time to get the hang of it. Jeff will send you materials to help you get started. You already have ideas about living Jesus’ gospel of the Fatherhood of God and the brotherhood of man, but living the truths of science will be new. And co-ordinating these two dimensions of truth will be your adventure of discovery with God!

  2. Hi Jeff,

I’ve sent you an email, and look forward to hearing from you 🙂 it’s such an interesting coincidence, that i’m taking Chris Halvorson’s course on “Reawakening Philosophy” and you’re offering these courses on “True Science” and how serendipitous that they together seem to meet in the middle ground of the three fold actuality. The realms of Science/Things, Philosophy/Meanings, and Religion/Values.

I’m excited to participate. Thank you for offering this service 🙂 Peace!

    1. Dear Susanne, Barb, and friends,
Thanks for your interest! I attached no .pdf file, and do not know how this component appeared in my original post.
However, I’ve been working on a couple things to send to interested folks, and expect to have those ready to send in a day or so.
May your day be full of blessings to you and through you!
With memories of our gathering together in Yosemite,
      Jeff

    1. Good morning, Andrew!
      Good hearing from you.
Your inquiry is timely, since the Gospel School is just beginning to focus on this preparation project on truth-coordinated living. Just this week we’re beginning with this quote and questions.
      I. Truth-coordinated living

“In all that you do, become not one-sided and overspecialized. The Pharisees who seek our destruction verily think they are doing God’s service. They have become so narrowed by tradition that they are blinded by prejudice and hardened by fear. Consider the Greeks, who have a science without religion, while the Jews have a religion without science. And when men become thus misled into accepting a narrow and confused disintegration of truth, their only hope of salvation is to become truth-co-ordinated — converted.
“Let me emphatically state this eternal truth: If you, by truth co-ordination, learn to exemplify in your lives this beautiful wholeness of righteousness, your fellow men will then seek after you that they may gain what you have so acquired. The measure wherewith truth seekers are drawn to you represents the measure of your truth endowment, your righteousness. The extent to which you have to go with your message to the people is, in a way, the measure of your failure to live the whole or righteous life, the truth-co-ordinated life.” (155:1.4-5; 1726.1-2)

      Questions:
      1. What has been going on with Jesus and the twelve that leads up to what Jesus says in the passage quoted? (Please read the whole of section 1, and refresh your mind about what has been happening in the previous few papers.)

      2. Jesus begins talking about the need to coordinate science and religion, and by the end, he is talking about “this beautiful wholeness of righteousness.” How can you explain this expansion of concept?

      3. What idea of truth-coordinated living do you have at this point?

      4. What experiences do you have that shed light on this topic?

      5. Any questions at this point?

I’ll send additional information to your e-mail address and add you to the Gospel School list as soon as you let me know of your interest.
      Spiritual strength and divine wisdom,
      Jeff
